The main activities of the Clinic of Medical Oncology are related to: diagnosis, staging and drug treatment of all types of solid malignant tumors in adults (carcinomas and sarcomas of soft tissues); consultation, diagnosis, staging and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors; best supportive care (palliative therapy); follow-up of oncological patients (dispensary follow-up); clinical studies in the field of medical oncology; own scientific developments in the field of oncology.

The clinic applies all diagnostic methods in clinical oncology - endoscopic, invasive, morphological (histological and cytological), imaging and metabolic, laboratory and immunological studies (in collaboration with other structures of the University Hospital "St. Marina"). All modern methods of systemic antitumor therapy are performed - chemotherapy (neoadjuvant, adjuvant, in metastatic disease and palliative), targeted therapy (neoadjuvant, adjuvant, in metastatic disease and palliative), endocrine therapy (hormone therapy), biological therapy (cytokines, somatostatin-receptor analogues), and immunotherapy,

All modern methods of systemic antitumor therapy, including target therapy, are performed in the medical oncology clinic. All patients with solid tumours are followed up. Psychosocial support is offered: the medical oncology clinic screens and monitors distress in cancer patients and seeks specialist help when needed.

Modern methods of cancer diagnosis and treatment significantly increase the quality of cancer care for patients, as well as their quality of life and survival.
